Grow a rare and beautiful edible flowering tree with these 24 Yellowhorn (Xanthoceras sorbifolium) seeds. This hardy deciduous tree or multi-stemmed shrub is prized for its stunning spring blooms, unique edible nuts, and brilliant yellow fall color.

Native to northern China, Yellowhorn typically grows 8–25 feet tall with an upright, spreading habit. In May, it produces spectacular 6–10 inch flower clusters covered in star-shaped white blossoms with yellow centers that deepen to pink or red after pollination. When in full bloom, the tree appears almost blanketed in flowers.

By autumn, attractive fig-like capsules split open to reveal glossy black edible seeds said to taste similar to macadamia nuts. Its lush, pinnate foliage turns golden yellow in fall, adding multi-season ornamental value.

Cold hardy, adaptable, and drought tolerant once established, Yellowhorn is ideal for edible landscapes, permaculture plantings, and unique specimen trees.
