🌱 About the Cashew Tree
Cashew (Anacardium occidentale) is a warm-climate evergreen tree grown in tropical regions. Mature trees may produce colorful cashew apples and cashew nuts when growing conditions and maturity allow. The cashew apple is used in some regions for beverages, jams, and other foods.
Please note that this is a young potted plant. Mature size, flowering, fruiting, and nut production depend on growing conditions, climate, plant maturity, and care; fruiting is not guaranteed.
☀️ Plant Care
Light: Provide plenty of bright light. Gradually acclimate the plant to stronger direct sunlight to help prevent leaf scorch.
Temperature: Prefers warm tropical conditions, ideally around 77–86°F (25–30°C). Protect from frost and prolonged cold.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the upper layer of soil begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain. Avoid waterlogged soil and do not let the plant sit in standing water.
Soil: Use a loose, well-draining potting mix. A sandy or sandy-loam mix is suitable; avoid dense soil that stays wet.
Fertilizing: During active growth, use a balanced fertilizer according to the product label. Avoid over-fertilizing, especially when the plant is young.
Growing Location: Best suited to warm tropical and subtropical climates. In cooler areas, grow in a container and protect it indoors or in a warm sheltered space when temperatures drop.
⚠️ Important Safety Note
Cashew plants contain sap and compounds that can irritate skin. The raw cashew nut shell contains caustic oils and should not be opened or handled casually. Do not eat raw nuts or plant parts; cashew nuts require proper commercial processing before consumption. Keep the plant away from children and pets who may chew on it, and use gloves when handling or pruning.
📦 Please Note
This listing is for one live plant in a 4-inch pot, not a mature tree or a harvested cashew crop. Each plant is naturally unique, so leaf shape, size, and appearance may vary. Your plant will be similar to the pictures.
