Grow your own American Witch Hazel (Hamamelis virginiana) with this 240-seed pack of a hardy, native shrub or small tree prized for its unique late-season flowers and vibrant fall foliage.

Blooming from October through December, Witch Hazel produces fragrant bright yellow flowers with slender, ribbon-like petals along bare branches—often after leaf drop. This rare fall-to-winter bloom makes it one of the last flowering plants of the year. In autumn, the foliage turns a clear golden yellow, adding brilliant color to woodland edges and garden borders.

Typically growing 15–20 feet tall with a similar spread, this adaptable shrub forms an open crown of arching branches. Ideal for woodland gardens, shrub borders, naturalized landscapes, privacy screens, wildlife habitats, and bonsai projects. Cold hardy and urban tolerant, it has also been traditionally valued for its herbal uses.
