Bring bold Southwestern character to your garden with Opuntia lindheimeri, also known as Twist Spine or Western Prickly Pear. This listing includes five healthy pad cuttings harvested from a ranch-grown cactus patch in West Texas.
This particular patch produces beautiful yellow to orange blooms with red centers from late spring through early summer (May–July). Once established, this variety forms a large, low-spreading cactus that makes a dramatic landscape statement in xeriscapes and rock gardens.
These pads measure approximately 6–8 inches and are easy to establish in well-draining soil. With proper care, they root readily and begin producing new growth in warm conditions.
Please note: This variety features downward-pointing spines. Handle carefully and use gloves when planting.
