Add bold autumn color and vibrant wildlife-friendly fruit to your landscape with Eastern Wahoo (Euonymus atropurpurea). This native North American shrub or small tree is prized for its fiery red fall foliage and striking pink seed capsules that open to reveal bright scarlet arils in autumn.

Often called Native Burning Bush, Eastern Wahoo grows as an upright, spreading shrub or small understory tree with graceful horizontal branching. In late spring, small dark purple flowers appear along the stems, followed by showy fuchsia-pink fruit capsules that persist well into winter, providing ornamental interest and food for birds.

This adaptable, hardy plant performs well in woodland gardens, hedgerows, naturalized plantings, and wildlife habitats. It also responds well to pruning, making it suitable for screening or informal hedges.

⚠️ Note: All parts of the plant are poisonous if ingested.
