Grow a timeless ornamental favorite with Tree Peony (Paeonia suffruticosa), a long-lived woody shrub treasured for its spectacular early spring flowers. Native to China, Tibet, and Bhutan, Tree Peonies produce breathtaking 6–8 inch blooms in soft pink to white shades that create a dramatic focal point in borders, woodland gardens, and specimen plantings.

Unlike herbaceous peonies, Tree Peonies develop permanent woody stems that remain above ground year-round, adding structure and beauty even when not in bloom. Their deeply divided green foliage stays attractive throughout the growing season, making them a valuable landscape shrub beyond flowering.

These plants take patience to establish but can thrive for decades once settled in the garden.

You will receive:
✔️ 15 Tree Peony seeds
✔️ Clearly labeled seed packet
✔️ Fresh seeds (not pretreated)
✔️ Basic germination instructions

🌼 Growing & Germination Information

Tree Peony seeds require a double stratification process:

  1. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours.

  2. Warm stratify at 70–80°F in a moist (not wet) medium until roots develop.

  3. Cold stratify at 40°F for 60–80 days.

  4. Sow 1/2 inch deep in a greenhouse or protected environment.

  5. Keep evenly moist (not wet). Germination may occur within 2 months after stratification.

Patience is essential — Tree Peonies are slow starters but exceptionally rewarding long-term shrubs.
