🍈 About Thai White Guava
Thai guava is a tropical fruit tree valued for its crunchy fruit and versatility in fresh dishes. The fruit can be eaten firm or used in salads, snacks, and other recipes. Fruit size, sweetness, texture, and seed quantity vary with cultivar and growing conditions.
This is a live young plant, not a mature fruiting tree. Flowering and fruit production depend on plant maturity, sunlight, climate, and care, so fruiting is not guaranteed.
☀️ Plant Care Guide
Light: Full sun is best for healthy growth and fruit production. Aim for at least 6 hours of direct sunlight daily, gradually acclimating young plants to stronger sun.
Watering: Water thoroughly when newly planted and keep the root zone evenly moist while the plant establishes. Once established, water when the upper soil begins to dry. Avoid waterlogged soil.
Soil: Use fertile, organic-rich, well-draining soil. Guava adapts to many soil types, but drainage is essential. A slightly acidic to neutral soil is generally suitable.
Temperature: Prefers warm conditions, roughly 65–90°F (18–32°C). Protect from frost and prolonged cold. In cooler climates, grow in a container so the plant can be moved to a warm, bright location when needed.
Humidity: Performs best in warm growing conditions. Extremely dry environments may require extra attention to watering and plant stress.
Fertilizing: Feed during active growth with a balanced fruit-tree fertilizer according to the product label. Guava may benefit from micronutrients such as iron and magnesium when soil conditions indicate a deficiency; avoid adding supplements unnecessarily.
Pruning: Remove damaged, dead, or diseased branches with clean pruning shears. Light pruning can help manage the tree’s shape and size, particularly when growing in a container.
🪴 Container Growing
Thai White Guava can be grown in a suitable container while young. Choose a pot with drainage holes and increase pot size as the root system grows. Place the plant in a sunny location and protect it from cold weather.
