Establish a hardy, soil-improving shrub with these 800 Siberian Pea Tree seeds. Ideal for large plantings, windbreaks, hedgerows, and permaculture systems, this rugged species thrives in harsh climates and poor soils where many plants struggle.

Native to Eastern Russia and Northern China, Siberian Pea Tree grows 15–20 feet tall and 12–15 feet wide with an upright, rounded form. It features bright green, feathery compound leaves and produces fragrant yellow pea-like flowers in spring that attract bees and pollinators. Flowers are followed by 3-inch edible seed pods that ripen in summer.

The peas inside are high in protein and should be cooked before eating. Young pods may be prepared as a vegetable, and the edible flowers can be added to salads. Its deep, extensive root system helps prevent erosion, and as a nitrogen-fixing plant, it naturally enriches soil health.

Excellent for farms, homesteads, food forests, wildlife plantings, and challenging sites exposed to wind, drought, or cold.
