Grow a bold and beautiful landscape shrub with Scarlet Firethorn (Pyracantha coccinea). This fast-growing, semi-evergreen to evergreen shrub is prized for its brilliant scarlet berries, spring flowers, and tough, adaptable nature.

In late spring, clusters of small creamy white flowers cover the plant, creating a striking display. By late summer and fall, bright orange-red berries develop in dense clusters and persist through winter, providing long-lasting color and valuable food for birds such as cedar waxwings.

Scarlet Firethorn grows 10–18 feet tall and wide, forming a dense, thorny shrub ideal for privacy hedges, security screens, and wildlife shelter. Its sharp thorns make it especially effective as a protective hedge. It can also be trained as an espalier against walls or fences, shaped on a trellis, or grown for bonsai.

This rugged shrub tolerates:
• Heat and drought (once established)
• Urban conditions and poor soils
• Wind and heavy pruning
• Moderate cold (Zones 5–9)

An excellent choice for hedges, screens, trellises, crafts, and naturalized plantings.

Seeds are not pretreated.
