Scarlet Euonymus (Euonymus sachalinensis), also known as Asian Spindle Tree, is a deciduous shrub or small tree admired for its dramatic fall foliage and vibrant ornamental fruit. Native to Japan, Korea, and Manchuria, this slow-growing plant begins upright when young and gradually develops into a wide, low-branched shrub or small tree reaching 8–15 feet tall.
Bright green foliage emerges early in spring, followed by small dark purple flowers in late spring. By autumn, the leaves transform into brilliant crimson-pink to scarlet tones. Showy 1/2-inch fuchsia-pink capsules split open to reveal bright scarlet seeds (arils) that hang from the branches well into winter, providing long-lasting seasonal interest and attracting birds and wildlife.
This 100-seed pack is ideal for larger landscape projects, hedges, screens, woodland plantings, or nursery propagation.
