Establish a large edible hedge, wildlife corridor, or restoration planting with 400 Saskatoon Serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolia) seeds. This hardy North American native shrub or small tree is prized for its beautiful spring flowers, sweet summer berries, and vibrant fall color.

In early spring, pinkish buds open into abundant clusters of delicate white flowers that often cover the branches before leaves fully emerge. By early summer, dark red-purple berries ripen. The fruit is sweet, juicy, and often compared to a blend of apple and blueberry. Excellent for fresh eating, pies, jams, wine, cider, baking, and drying.

In autumn, foliage turns brilliant shades of yellow-orange to reddish purple, adding strong seasonal interest. Serviceberry is non-invasive, adaptable to many soil types, urban tolerant, and highly attractive to birds and pollinators.

This 400-seed pack is ideal for:

✔️ Edible hedgerows
✔️ Windbreak plantings
✔️ Wildlife habitat projects
✔️ Native landscaping
✔️ Food forest and permaculture designs

Seeds are securely packaged and labeled.

🌿 Germination Instructions

For best results, follow in order:

  1. Soak seeds in water for 24 hours

  2. Cold stratify for 90 days at approximately 40°F in a moist (not wet) medium

  3. Sow 1/8 inch deep

  4. Keep evenly moist during germination

Woody shrubs require patience — consistent moisture and proper stratification greatly improve success rates.
