Grow your own Rowan Tree (Sorbus aucuparia), also known as European Mountain Ash — a hardy, fast-growing ornamental tree prized for its spring flowers, brilliant autumn foliage, and vibrant orange-red berries.
Native to Europe and Asia, this deciduous large shrub or small tree grows 20–40 feet tall with an upright oval crown that gradually becomes broader and more open with age. In May, clusters of small white flowers bloom in showy flattened corymbs. By late summer and fall, the tree produces abundant clusters of bright orange-red berries that persist into winter and attract birds and wildlife.
The compound green leaves turn beautiful shades of yellow to reddish-purple in autumn, making this one of the most reliable fall color trees for cooler climates. Extremely cold hardy (Zone 3), Rowan performs well in northern landscapes and tolerates urban conditions.
This 600-seed pack is ideal for reforestation projects, wildlife habitat plantings, conservation areas, windbreaks, restoration sites, and large-scale landscape installations.
