Rosebay Rhododendron (Rhododendron maximum), also known as Great Laurel or White Laurel, is a hardy evergreen native shrub of eastern North America. Naturally growing from Georgia to Nova Scotia, it thrives in cool woodland environments, along streams, and on moist, acidic, shaded slopes.

This large, multi-stemmed shrub typically grows 8–15 feet tall and wide, though mature specimens may grow much larger and even take on a tree-like form under ideal conditions. Its broad, glossy dark green leaves (4–12 inches long) provide bold texture and year-round interest in woodland landscapes. New growth is slightly glandular and may feel sticky to the touch.

In late June to mid-summer, impressive upright trusses of 15–30 funnel-shaped flowers bloom. Flowers range from pale pink to nearly white with yellow-green spotting and attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Its late bloom season makes it especially valuable in shaded gardens.

Extremely cold tolerant and highly shade adaptable, Rosebay Rhododendron is ideal for woodland gardens, native plant restoration, naturalized plantings, shrub borders, and large mass plantings. In nature, it spreads by layering to form dense evergreen thickets.

This 600-seed quantity is perfect for larger landscaping projects, restoration work, or nursery propagation.
