Ponderosa Pine typically grows 60–125 feet tall in cultivation with a broad, open crown and strong central trunk. Mature trees develop beautiful cinnamon-red bark with deep black furrows, while younger trees display darker bark. Long yellow-green needles grow in bundles of 2–3 and release a pleasant resinous, citrus-like fragrance when crushed.
