✨ ABOUT PHILODENDRON ‘SILVER STRIPE’

Philodendron ‘Silver Stripe’ is a variegated cultivar associated with Philodendron hederaceum. It is known for its trailing growth and striking combination of green, creamy yellow, and silvery foliage. It is also described as a sport of Philodendron ‘Brasil’.

Let its vines trail naturally from a shelf or planter, or provide a moss pole or trellis for climbing growth. With suitable support, new leaves may develop larger as the plant matures.

☀️ PHILODENDRON SILVER STRIPE CARE

Light: Bright, indirect light helps maintain vigorous growth and attractive variegation. The plant can tolerate lower light, but growth may become slower and vines may stretch, with less pronounced variegation. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sun, which can scorch the leaves.

Water: Water thoroughly when the potting mix has dried substantially. Allow excess water to drain, and avoid leaving the roots in standing water. Adjust watering frequency according to temperature, light, and the plant’s growth.

Soil: Use a loose, airy, well-draining potting mix that retains some moisture without becoming waterlogged. A quality indoor aroid mix with organic matter and drainage materials is a suitable option.

Temperature: Average warm indoor temperatures are ideal. Protect the plant from cold drafts and prolonged exposure to temperatures below approximately 55°F (13°C).

Humidity: Average household humidity is generally acceptable. Moderate to higher humidity can support healthy foliage, particularly in dry indoor environments.

Fertilizer: During active growth, use a balanced houseplant fertilizer according to the product label. Reduce feeding during slower winter growth.

Growth habit: This is a trailing and climbing plant. Trim long vines as needed to maintain your preferred shape, and use a moss pole or trellis if you want it to climb.

🪴 STYLING YOUR SILVER STRIPE

Display this variegated philodendron on a bookshelf, plant stand, desk, or hanging planter where its foliage can cascade beautifully. For a climbing display, provide support and attach the vines gently as they grow.

Its distinctive leaf pattern pairs well with other tropical houseplants and makes it a lovely addition to a curated indoor jungle or variegated plant collection.

⚠️ PET AND PLANT SAFETY

Philodendrons contain insoluble calcium oxalate crystals and are considered toxic if chewed or ingested. Keep this plant out of reach of pets and children. Sap may also irritate sensitive skin.
