Quercus lyrata, also known as overcup oak, is a medium-sized deciduous tree found in wetlands in the southeastern United States. It has lyre-shaped leaves and produces acorns enclosed in a cup. Despite being susceptible to defects caused by insects and injuries, overcup oak is valued for its wood and is a dominant species in certain forest cover types.

Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
