Norway Spruce is one of the most popular and reliable evergreen trees you can plant. Known for its fast growth rate and classic pyramidal form, it develops strong, graceful branches covered in rich, dark green needles. This hardy conifer is extremely adaptable and performs well in cold climates while also tolerating more heat and humidity than many other spruces.
Typically growing 40–60 feet tall (and capable of exceeding 100 feet in ideal conditions), Norway Spruce makes an excellent specimen tree, privacy screen, or windbreak. Its dense branching and pendulous secondary branchlets create a beautiful, traditional evergreen silhouette often used for Christmas trees.
🌿 Wildlife Value:
Norway Spruce provides outstanding winter cover for deer, grouse, hare, and other small game. Songbirds and fur-bearing animals use it for shelter, and hawks and owls frequently roost in its branches.
