Grow a larger planting of one of North America’s most stunning native evergreens with these 150 Mountain Laurel (Kalmia latifolia) seeds. This broadleaf evergreen shrub is celebrated for its intricate spring flowers and glossy year-round foliage.

Native to eastern North America, Mountain Laurel naturally grows in rocky and sandy woodland settings. It typically forms a dense, rounded shrub 5–15 feet tall and wide, gradually developing characterful, gnarled branching with age. In rare cases, it may grow into a small tree reaching up to 30 feet.

In May, the plant becomes covered in impressive terminal flower clusters (up to 6 inches across). Each cup-shaped bloom (about 1 inch wide) has five distinct sides and ranges from soft rose to white with striking purple markings inside. After flowering, small brown capsules persist into winter.

Its leathery, dark green evergreen leaves provide structure and beauty all year long, making it a perfect companion for rhododendrons and azaleas in woodland and shade gardens.

⚠️ Note: All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested.
