Alphonso mango is known as the “King of mango” because of its delicious tropically fruity sweet taste and juicy saffron/golden coloured non-fibrous tender texture of its flesh. It has a significantly thinner more shiny skin. Fully ripened Alphonso mangoes also release an aromatic fruity fragrance in the air.They are also one of the most expensive kinds of mango and is grown mainly in western India. typically weighing 0.5-0.75 lbs and ripening in late June to July. Grow pounds of mangos without the hassle because the Alphonso Mango is incredibly low maintenance.

Trees propagated by grafting will come into production earlier, producing fruit 1-2 years after planting. Seedlings can take up to 5 years to fruit.
