Grow a striking deciduous conifer known for its brilliant golden fall display with these 800 Japanese Larch seeds. Larix kaempferi (also known as Larix leptolepis) is considered one of the finest larches in cultivation, admired for its soft blue-green needles, reddish exfoliating bark, and graceful open conical form.

Unlike evergreen conifers, Japanese Larch sheds its needles each autumn. Before dropping, the foliage turns a glowing golden yellow, creating a dramatic seasonal display across large landscapes. In early spring, colorful male and female strobili appear in shades of red, pink, yellow, and green, followed by attractive rosebud-shaped cones that mature to medium brown.

Under ideal growing conditions with ample moisture, this fast-growing tree may reach:
• 20 feet in approximately 15 years
• 50 feet in about 40 years
• 80–90 feet at maturity

With a mature spread of 30–40 feet, Japanese Larch is ideal for reforestation projects, windbreaks, estate lawns, parks, golf courses, campuses, and other expansive landscapes. It is also highly valued for bonsai due to its seasonal needle change and elegant branching structure.

This tree prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil in full sun. It does not tolerate hot climates, drought, or waterlogged soils.

You will receive:
