You can scarify the seeds by lightly nicking the seed coat with a knife or rubbing them with sandpaper. To stratify the seeds, place them in a moistened paper towel or peat moss, seal them in a plastic bag, and store them in the refrigerator for 4-6 weeks before planting. Plant the scarified or stratified seeds about 1/2 inch deep in the soil. Space the seeds at least 6-8 inches apart.
