Grow a rare and spectacular ornamental with Igiri Tree (Idesia polycarpa), also known as Chinese Wonder Tree. This fast-growing, broad pyramidal deciduous tree is prized for its huge tropical-looking heart-shaped leaves, fragrant spring flowers, and dramatic clusters of colorful berries.

New foliage emerges bronze-purple before maturing to glossy deep green above with blue-white undersides. The large leaves are carried on striking red stalks, adding additional contrast. In spring (April–May), fragrant yellow-green flowers bloom in long panicles.

By fall, female trees produce abundant grape-like clusters of berries that transition from purple-red to bright orange-red before darkening with age. The berries are edible and highly attractive to birds, making this an excellent wildlife tree. Against winter skies—or even snow—the fruit display is stunning.

Igiri Tree is dioecious, meaning male and female trees are separate. Multiple trees are required for berry production. It is wind tolerant, adaptable to many soils, heat and drought tolerant once established, and generally resistant to pests and disease.

This 50-seed pack is perfect for gardeners, collectors of rare trees, wildlife enthusiasts, or those seeking a fast-growing ornamental shade tree with year-round appeal.
