Grow a durable, fast-growing, and highly adaptable shade tree with Thornless Honeylocust (Gleditsia triacanthos inermis). Known for its graceful, fern-like foliage and bright golden fall color, this deciduous tree is widely used in parks, city streets, and large landscapes.

Young trees can grow 2–3 feet per year under favorable conditions. Its open, fine-textured canopy produces light, filtered shade that allows grass and understory plants to grow beneath it — making it an excellent lawn and street tree.

In late spring to early summer, fragrant greenish-yellow flowers appear in clusters, followed by long, twisted decorative seed pods that often remain on the tree into winter.

This 240-seed pack is ideal for larger plantings, shelterbelts, or nursery propagation.

You will receive:
✔️ 240 Honeylocust seeds
✔️ Fresh seeds (not pretreated)
✔️ Clearly labeled seed packet
✔️ Germination instructions

🌰 Germination Instructions

Honeylocust seeds require scarification due to their hard seed coat:

  1. Pour boiling water over seeds and soak for 24 hours.

  2. Repeat for seeds that do not swell.

  3. Sow 1/2" to 3/4" deep in well-drained soil.

  4. Keep soil moist but not waterlogged.

Germination typically occurs within several weeks.
