• Soil / Medium: Requires rich, volcanic, deeply organic, and well-draining acidic soil. A soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. For pots, use a mix rich in peat moss and perlite.

• Watering: Requires regular, consistent watering to keep the soil evenly moist, mimicking a tropical cloud forest. Never allow the soil to dry out completely, but ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.

Sow the seeds flat-side down about 1/2 inch deep in a loose, damp sterile seed-starting mix or vermiculite. Maintain a consistently warm temperature (around 75°F / 24°C) and high humidity.
