The Fraser Fir, also known as Abies fraseri, is a popular choice for a Christmas tree due to its excellent needle retention and resistance to early spring frosts. It has been used as the Blue Room Christmas tree in the White House more times than any other tree. Native to the eastern United States and Canada, the Fraser Fir prefers cool sites with moderately well-drained soil and can grow in a variety of soils and shaded areas.
