Fraxinus ornus, also known as Manna Ash, is a deciduous tree native to southern Europe and southwestern Asia. It can grow up to 25 meters tall with smooth dark grey bark and pinnate leaves consisting of 5-9 leaflets. The tree produces attractive white or pale yellow flowers in late spring and can be cultivated for its decorative qualities as well as for the sugary extract, manna, obtained from its sap.

Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 12 hours

Stratification: warm stratify for 30 days, cold stratify for 90 days

Germination: sow seed 3/8" deep, tamp the soil, keep moist, mulch the seed bed, can be sown outdoors in the fall for spring germination
