This variety produces beautiful purple-black fruit with a deep red, strawberry-colored pulp and a distinctive, sweet, rich flavor. Breba crops are pear-shaped with a thick, tapering neck, while the main crop varies in shape and often has little to no neck. The fruit has a medium eye and is excellent for fresh eating or drying.

Naturally compact and hardy, Violeta de Bordeaux is especially well-suited for container growing and small-space gardens.
