It can grow up to 3 meters tall and has white flowers that bloom in May, followed by edible brown to red fruits that ripen in September. This shrub is adaptable to various growing conditions, serves as excellent food and cover for wildlife, and its fruits and flowers have traditional medicinal uses as a heart tonic.
