Grow the beautiful and iconic Colorado Blue Spruce, admired for its brilliant silvery-blue needles and classic pyramidal shape. Native to the central Rocky Mountains, this hardy evergreen thrives in cold climates and is widely planted as a specimen tree, privacy screen, windbreak, or Christmas tree.
In cultivation, Colorado Blue Spruce typically grows 30–60 feet tall, with dense, horizontal branches extending to the ground. In natural settings, it may reach up to 80–100 feet. Its stiff, sharp, four-sided needles range from green to blue-green to striking silver-blue, radiating outward from the twigs for a full, textured look.
Light brown cylindrical cones (2–4 inches long) mature in fall, and mature bark develops shallow furrows with age. The tree’s strong structure and wind tolerance make it ideal for shelterbelts and large landscape plantings.
This 100-seed pack is ideal for mass planting, windbreak projects, nursery propagation, bonsai growers, and home gardeners.
