Chinese Holly (Ilex cornuta), also known as Horned Holly, is a bold, architectural broadleaf evergreen valued for its glossy spined leaves and bright red winter berries. Native to China and Korea, this hardy shrub is widely planted for hedges, privacy screens, topiary, bonsai, and structured landscape designs.
Growing 8–10 feet tall as a dense shrub (or up to 25 feet when trained as a small tree), Chinese Holly provides year-round structure and color. Its uniquely shaped rectangular leaves feature prominent spines at the tip, creating texture and natural security screening.
