Cultivate one of the specialty coffee world’s most celebrated and visually stunning cultivars with our premium pack of 120+ Catuai Yellow Coffee (Coffea arabica) seeds. Born from a legendary cross between the highly productive Mundo Novo and the compact Caturra varieties, 'Yellow Catuai' is world-renowned among boutique estate growers for its exceptional vigor and superior cup quality. Standing out beautifully in the orchard, this unique variety produces heavy, striking clusters of brilliant, bright yellow cherries instead of the traditional red. In the cup, it delivers a remarkably smooth, sweet, and highly sophisticated profile—characterized by a clean body, crisp citric acidity, and a deep, distinct sweetness bursting with notes of warm honey, caramel, and bright floral undertones.

Our select package contains 120+ high-viability, freshly harvested parchment seeds chosen specifically for their strict genetic purity, exceptional seedling vigor, and uniform growth traits. The Yellow Catuai plant grows into a magnificent, compact evergreen shrub decorated with broad, wavy-margined glossy emerald leaves and tight clusters of delicate white flowers that fill the air with an intoxicating, sweet jasmine-like fragrance during its bloom cycle. Thanks to its short, sturdy stature and highly efficient lateral branching, this premium variety is an immensely rewarding choice for dense backyard food forests, specialty home orchards, or high-end indoor patio container setups.

You will receive: ✔️ 120+ Premium-quality Catuai Yellow Coffee seeds ✔️ Freshly harvested and hand-selected to ensure optimal viability and robust sprouting ✔️ Packaged in professional, moisture-controlled botanical sachets to maintain long-term freshness ✔️ Specialized coffee germination and early canopy care guidelines included

🌿 Cultivation & Care Information

  • Botanical Name: Cultivar Coffea arabica var. Yellow Catuai

  • Common Name: Catuai Yellow Coffee / Yellow Catuai Arabica / Yellow Bourbon Hybrid

  • Plant Type: Compact-to-medium evergreen tropical shrub / Small tree

  • Sun Requirements: Bright, filtered sunlight or partial shade (Essential: Prefers morning sun or dappled light; avoid harsh, intense afternoon sun which can easily scorch the foliage).

  • Soil / Medium: Requires rich, deeply organic, porous, and well-draining acidic soils. A soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. For pots, use a premium mix rich in peat moss, organic compost, and perlite.

  • Watering: Requires regular, consistent watering to maintain even moisture around the root zone, carefully mimicking a humid tropical highland environment. Never allow the soil to become completely bone-dry, but ensure free drainage to prevent root rot.

  • Growth Habit: A beautifully compact, highly productive variety featuring short internodes and sturdy lateral branches that hold up well under the weight of heavy fruit sets. Responds beautifully to structural pruning and thrives exceptionally well in limited spaces or patio pots.

  • Temperature: Thrives best in mild, warm, and highly humid climates (60°F to 78°F / 15°C to 25°C). Highly sensitive to severe frost and freezing temperatures; must be kept indoors or heavily protected in cold regions.

💡 Pro Growing Tip

Coffee seeds retain their outer parchment shell, which protects the inner embryo but requires constant moisture to soften. To accelerate germination, soak your Yellow Catuai seeds in room-temperature water for 24 to 48 hours until the parchment shell softens. Sow the seeds flat-side down about 1/2 inch deep in a loose, damp sterile seed-starting mix or pure vermiculite. Maintain a consistently warm temperature (around 75°F / 24°C) and high humidity. Exercise patience—high-quality Arabica seeds sprout slowly and steadily, typically taking 4 to 8 weeks to push their iconic "soldier" hooks out of the soil!
