Native to the Mediterranean region, it is well-adapted to warm temperate and subtropical areas and can tolerate hot and humid coastal regions. The tree's pods are filled with a saccharine pulp that can be eaten green or dried, and they are not only sweet-tasting but also packed with nutrients.
Scarification: Soak in sulfuric or nitric acid for 60 minutes and wash under cold water for 5-10 minutes., Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
