Blue Noble Fir (Abies procera glauca), also known as Noble Fir or Abies nobilis, is one of the most magnificent evergreen trees of the Pacific Northwest. Native to the Cascade and Coast Ranges of Washington, Oregon, and northern California, this high-altitude fir is admired for its strong branching, symmetrical form, and striking blue-green foliage.

In cultivation, Noble Fir typically grows 50–100 feet tall, though in native mountain forests it can exceed 250 feet. Its narrow, slightly tapered cylindrical shape creates a classic conifer silhouette. The flattened bluish needles (about 1 inch long) curve at the base and are typically upswept along the branches, giving the tree a layered and elegant appearance.

Large upright cones (4–10 inches long) mature from purple to olive-brown and disintegrate in fall to release winged seeds. Young bark is smooth and gray with resin blisters, becoming reddish-brown and furrowed with age. Exceptionally wind tolerant and fragrant, Blue Noble Fir is a premium Christmas tree species and an outstanding specimen tree for larger landscapes.
