Establish a valuable native hardwood planting with Black Cherry (Prunus serotina). This fast-growing, long-lived North American tree is prized for its fragrant spring blooms, edible summer fruit, vibrant fall color, and premium-quality timber.

Black Cherry typically grows 40–60 feet tall and may reach up to 100 feet in ideal conditions. It develops a straight trunk and oval crown, making it an excellent shade, woodland, and timber tree. In early spring, abundant drooping clusters of small white fragrant flowers appear as the leaves unfold, attracting pollinators and beneficial insects.

By early summer, dark red to nearly black cherries ripen. The fruit is edible (often used for jelly, wine, and flavoring) and highly attractive to songbirds and wildlife. In autumn, glossy green leaves turn shades of yellow, orange, or red depending on climate and soil conditions.

Black Cherry is:
• Cold hardy (Zones 4–9)
• Heat, drought, and salt tolerant
• Fast growing and long lived
• Excellent for wildlife habitat and shelter
• Highly valued for fine hardwood timber

Ideal for large properties, woodland plantings, habitat restoration, reforestation, homesteads, and long-term timber investment.

Seeds are not pretreated.
