The Strelitzia nicolai, also known as the giant white bird of paradise or wild banana, is a stunning plant with grey-green leaves arranged like a fan at the top of its stem. It can reach a height of 6m and has a striking inflorescence with a dark blue bract, white sepals, and a bluish-purple tongue. This plant prefers rich, moist soils, tolerates light frost, and self-seeds easily in favorable conditions, making it a beautiful addition to any garden.
