Allium ursinum, also known as Ramsons or Wild Garlic, is a perennial herbaceous plant native to Europe and Asia. It is a favorite food of brown bears and wild boars due to its bulbs. While all parts of the plant are edible and can be used in various dishes, caution must be exercised as it resembles poisonous plants like the lily of the valley.
Scarification: Soak in water, let stand in water for 24 hours
Stratification: cold stratify for 60 days. Stratify by surface sowing seeds on moist, tamped, soil in trays and place trays in cold for 60 days. Keep moist.
Germination: Take trays out of refrigeration, put plastic wrap around them and place in a warm, sunny location. Remove the plastic wrap once seeds germinate.
