Elevate your private botanical collection or luxury estate landscape with our premium, hand-selected Barhi Date Palm (Phoenix dactylifera) seeds. Originating from the fertile river valleys of Iraq and celebrated globally as the undisputed "Queen of Dates," the legendary "Barhi" (or Barhee) cultivar is universally prized by fruit connoisseurs for its unparalleled sweetness and unique versatility. Unlike most date varieties that are too astringent to eat before they are fully cured, the Barhi date is exceptionally delicious during its crisp, golden-yellow "Khalal" stage, offering a delightful crunch with a flavor reminiscent of sweet brown sugar, fresh coconut, and sugarcane. When allowed to fully ripen into the soft, amber "Rutab" stage, the flesh melts into a silky, fiberless, almost liquid consistency that tastes precisely like rich, warm butterscotch and pure mountain honey.
Our boutique, hand-selected batch contains 35+ high-viability, fresh, and thoroughly cleaned seeds, harvested from elite parental lines to ensure excellent germination rates and outstanding seedling vigor. Highly favored by estate designers, rare fruit collectors, and backyard orchardists alike, the Barhi Date Palm is coveted not only for its world-class gourmet harvest but also for its magnificent, architectural presence. Its stately crown of arching, silver-blue fronds creates an instant, dramatic focal point of classic Mediterranean or desert-resort elegance on any sun-drenched estate, private terrace, or large greenhouse property.

🌳 Cultivation & Care Information
-
Botanical Name: Phoenix dactylifera 'Barhi'
-
Common Name: Barhi Date Palm / Barhee Date / Kurma Barhi
-
Plant Type: Stately, slow-to-moderate growing dioecious tropical/subtropical feather palm
-
Sun Requirements: Full sun (Essential: Requires at least 8 hours of intense, direct, unfiltered daily sunlight to fuel its architectural growth and successfully ripen heavy clusters of honey-sweet dates).
-
Soil / Medium: Highly adaptable but thrives best in a deeply fertile, loose, sandy-loam potting mix with excellent drainage (ideal pH 6.0–8.0). Extremely sensitive to heavy, clay-packed, waterlogged root zones.
-
Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the establishment phase and active summer growth. While highly drought-tolerant once mature, consistent and deep hydration combined with sharp soil drainage produces the plumpest, highest-quality fruit crops.
-
Growth Habit: A highly structural, heavy-trunked ornamental palm crowned with a beautiful, symmetrical canopy of arching, feather-like pinnate fronds. A magnificent architectural addition to luxury driveways, pool decks, or estate borders.
-
Temperature & Humidity: Thrives effortlessly in hot, dry, desert, or warm subtropical microclimates. Mature trees are highly cold-hardy (tolerating brief drops to -5°C once fully established), but young seedlings must be protected strictly from freezing temperatures.
💡 Pro Growing Tip: Date palm seeds possess a very hard, protective outer shell that regulates moisture intake to survive arid conditions. To ensure a rapid and highly uniform sprout across this premium 35+ seed batch, soak the seeds in warm distilled water for 48 to 72 hours, changing the water daily to keep it fresh and oxygenated. Once soaked, place the seeds in a damp paper towel inside a sealed zip-lock bag, and keep it in a consistently warm, dark spot (around 28°C–32°C). Check weekly; as soon as the thick, white primary roots (radicles) begin to emerge, carefully plant the sprouted seeds 1 inch deep in deep, well-draining starter pots filled with a sandy, sterile seed-starting mix. Sprouting typically begins reliably within 2 to 6 weeks!
