Barbados Cherry is a fast-growing, bushy tree that can be trained as a small standard tree or shaped into a productive hedge. The fruit ranges from sweet to sub-acid and is widely used in juices throughout Latin America. Acerola cherries are exceptionally high in Vitamin C—just one fruit contains as much Vitamin C as multiple oranges.

The fruit is also excellent for fresh eating, smoothies, jellies, jams, and freezing, as it retains its Vitamin C content even after freezing.
