Often called the “Sugar Pear,” Ayers is prized for its exceptionally sweet, juicy, and smooth flesh—completely free of grit. The medium-sized fruit ripens from mid-August through September, featuring yellow skin with a soft red blush when fully mature.
This variety is especially well suited for warmer regions due to its low chilling requirement and strong resistance to fire blight disease. In spring, trees are covered with attractive white and pink blossoms, making them beautiful as well as productive.
