• Sun Requirements: Bright, filtered sunlight or partial shade (Essential: Prefers morning sun or dappled light; avoid harsh, intense afternoon sun which can scorch the delicate foliage).

• Soil / Medium: Requires rich, deeply organic, volcanic, and well-draining acidic soil. A soil pH between 5.5 and 6.5 is ideal. For pots, use a premium mix rich in peat moss, compost, and perlite.

• Watering: Requires regular, consistent watering to keep the soil evenly moist, mimicking a humid tropical cloud forest. Never allow the soil to dry out completely, but ensure excellent drainage to prevent root rot.

Coffee seeds retain their outer parchment shell, which protects the inner embryo but requires constant moisture to soften. Sow the seeds flat-side down about 1/2 inch deep in a loose, damp sterile seed-starting mix or vermiculite. Maintain a consistently warm temperature (around 75°F / 24°C) and high humidity.
