Grow American Highbush Cranberry (Viburnum trilobum), a hardy native shrub valued for its showy spring flowers, brilliant fall color, and bright red edible berries. Despite its name, it is not a true cranberry, but it produces tart, flavorful fruits often used in jams and jellies.

In spring, flat-topped clusters of white flowers appear, featuring an outer ring of showy sterile blooms surrounding smaller fertile flowers. By fall, drooping clusters of glossy red berries develop, providing ornamental beauty and an important food source for birds and wildlife. The three-lobed, maple-like leaves turn attractive shades of yellow-red to reddish-purple in autumn.

This adaptable shrub is ideal for hedges, woodland margins, native gardens, and naturalized plantings.
