Grow your own productive nut-bearing shrub with these 32 American Hazelnut (Corylus americana) seeds. Native to Eastern North America, this fast-growing and adaptable shrub produces delicious edible nuts while also serving as valuable wildlife habitat.

American Hazelnut typically grows 8–16 feet tall with a rounded, multi-stemmed form. In early spring, showy yellow-brown catkins appear, followed by small red female flowers. By mid to late summer, plants produce sweet, egg-shaped nuts enclosed in leafy husks. The nuts are similar in flavor to European filberts and are excellent for roasting, baking, fresh eating, or grinding into flour.

Fall foliage may display attractive shades of orange, red, rose, and yellow. This shrub spreads naturally, making it ideal for hedges, windbreaks, naturalized areas, food forests, and edible landscapes.

For best nut production, plant at least two shrubs for cross-pollination.

You will receive seeds similar in size and quality to those shown in the listing photos.
