7 HEIRLOOM CAPE JASMINE GARDENIA BUSH CUTTINGS.

CUTTINGS (no roots) APPROXIMATELY 1/2 FT. LONG

HOW TO PROPAGATE GARDENIA CUTTINGS*
First remove all leaves from the cutting except for the top 1 or 2 (removing all leaves is best). If there are flower buds, remove them also. Re-cut the bottom end with a sharp blade at a slight angle about 1/4" below a node. Prepare a pot by filling it with equal parts of potting soil and sand. Dampen the mixture. Make a small hole in the soil with your finger.
Dip the cut end into rooting hormone. Place the cutting into the hole and then back-fill the hole. Place the gardenia in bright but indirect sunlight. Keep the temperature about
75F (24C). Keep the soil damp but not soaked. You will need to increase the humidity by covering with clear plastic, a milk jug cut in half or any other way you choose. Make sure the cover doesn't touch the plants. You can expect the plants to be rooted in 7 to 8 weeks. Plant outdoors after well established in early spring or late fall only.
