dig the hole a little bigger than the plant.

If you have some compost or better-quality soil then add it to the hole. If no better soil is around then don't worry about it. This is very easy to grow.

Fill the hole with water and then let it drain out.

Now put the citronella plant in the hole and back fill it to just cover the root area and maybe a little bit more.

Water a second time and the planting is done.

Now water them the next day and then every other day for about a week or two and then water like you do your other plants.
