The Olneya tesota Desert Ironwood, also known as Palo Fierro, is a stunning evergreen tree that can grow up to 10 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 60 centimeters. It has blueish-green leaves made up of 6-9 leaflets and beautiful flowers that bloom in late April/May in various colors. This hardy tree can survive mild freezes but may lose its leaves in extreme drought, and it can be grown in different types of soil.
